I am an amphibious photographer using diving, kayaking and caving techniques to photograph places that most other photographers cannot reach, including the wilder aspects of the natural world from caves, mountains and wild water rivers to urban landscapes of the River Thames.
I also do underwater portraiture, for which I set up a complete underwater photographic studio.
Following a BA (Hons) in graphic design and illustration in 1984, I worked as an assistant to studio based advertising and editorial photographer, John Suett, and soon after I worked for Operation Raleigh (now Raleigh International) covering photographic assignments around the UK and spending three months in Guyana as the expedition photographer.
During the 1990's my kayaking skills grew rapidly and in 2004 I began diving too, extending the locations I could take my camera. In 2006 I qualified as an HSE media diver (part 4) at Fort William in Scotland. This qualification is required in the UK for working underwater as a photographer using SCUBA.
